I'm sitting at Frankfurt airport waiting for my machine to Detroit and Indianapolis. Oh my, this airport is so ugly. At least they are down to one security check (from three last year) and check-in was quick and easy. Internet access is horribly expensive, but I gotta spend the time somehow.

I love travelling, but FRA airport somehow never seems inviting or exciting as a gate to the world should be. It's a sprawling, slightly grimy, boring, cold place - there are much nicer airports around the world. Detroit - my current destination - is actually pretty nice, but my favorite airport in the world is still Vancouver International. When will I be there again?

With the flight from Germany I always seem to be one of the first of the crew to arrive in Indy ... at least no-one else appears to be here yet. The flight was super quick and easy; in 8:20 across the big pond (Frankfurt-Detroit), that's a first for me.

The hard part now is to stay awake until 11pm or so, as that's the best way for me to skip the jet lag and get into a quasi-normal sleep rhythm right away. Wish me luck...
