So... what do I find in my shopping back after I've come home from GenCon and Indianapolis?
- Luke Crane's Magic Burner, signed (actually two copies, one for me, another for a friend)
I simply must have all the Burning Wheel stuff. Even if I don't play the system, it's so well written and thoughtfully designed, it contains tons of ideas and inspirations for my games.
- The deluxe edition of Trail of Cthulhu signed by both Ken Hite and Robin Laws... what a precious
One of these days I'll manage to put my Chtulhu in Weimar campaign into writing
- The Pirate's Guide to Freeport from Green Ronin Publishing
Hey, it won the gold ENnie for best cartography. Talk about inspiration for my work.
- Shelly Mazzanoble's Confessions of a part-time sorceress, another ENnie winner
What, you say I'm not a girl so why do I buy a "girl's guide"? I say ... it's for Stef.
- Literally in the last five minutes of the convention I acquired the new Descent add-on Tomb of Ice
That should put some new life in our Road to Legend campaign.
- A handful of pretty d6 from Q-Workshop
Another attempt to cure Stef's six-sided dice curse. No luck though, she's rolling only 1s and 2s with these either.
- A copy of the comic Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi ... also for Stef
We've seen the movie and it was brilliant, so I thought the comic would make a great coming home gift. It worked.
- The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. An impulse buy for my sister who celebrated her birthday while I was in Indy.
Unfortunately it turns out she already has it. Well, everybody tells me it's great. so I'll just keep it.
- A license for both Hero Lab and Army Builder by Lone Wold Productions
Mainly out of professional curiosity for other rpg software products.
- And one other book that I can't tell, since it's an upcoming birthday present for someone who might be reading this...
